Official Logo, Cartoon and our Bible Verse

Wedding preparation is expensive! (No doubt about it!)

And since I cannot think of any more ways to additionally pay for the wedding costs, I have decided to dedicate my time into doing DIYs...

And first on top of my head, was to do layouts for the cards...

First off, was the Logo and the Monogram

Ever since becoming an official couple, we have already coined the term "Cheers" for our tandem...This obviously represents the combination of our names (parang ala-love team lng ang peg)

Chesca + Peers = Cheers (get it?!?)

We did not go for the traditional initials...because we would look too geeky and it's not appealing...

P+C or PC (mukhang personal computer lang)

So, its a no-brainer! We went for the "CHEERS"

We originally had a monogram made by a good friend...but that one was leaning towards a different theme...After much debate and careful thinking, we had to redo and change everything we initially had in mind...so we went for something that will be more into our then chosen theme and color...

And here was what I came up with...

 and for our names...

After finalizing the monogram and our names, everything else fell into place...

Second, was our cartoon!

We didn't want a very traditional wedding...we wanted something that will represent our personalities...so I searched online for cartoons/images that we can incorporate in our cards...

That's the Cheers Couple! :)

Although it didn't look like us in person, the cartoon was just adorable...Bonus that the "heart balloons" were in our motif...so I just had to grab it and use it! :)

Next off, our Bible Verse!

This is by far, the most important detail of our cards...our bible verse is the secret ingredient to our relationship. This is what we both hold on during times of trials and this was what kept us through all the challenges we have faced and we will be facing as a couple... :)

There's so much more to work on for our DIYs...and I am nowhere near completing any of it!

And so...The adventure continues...

Cheers! <3

Releasing the WYB Cards

We have now officially released our WYB Cards to our Ento and Principal Sponsors...

We decided to have it printed so we can hand them out personally to our Ento Members who are here in Singapore and hopefully send them out as well to those who are overseas.

Below is the soft copy that I have painstakingly made from scratch...using MS Powerpoint!

I have attempted to work on Adobe Photoshop and the likes and the details are just too complicated for me. I'd rather do everything manually over a software that I am comfortable with...anyway, its the end-result that will matter!

So here is the soft copy that I have made...Don't you just adore the cartoon! hehe

Sample for the Bridesmaid

Sample for the Groomsman

Sample for the Male Principal Sponsor

Sample for the Secondary Sponsor

When I had them printed out at a Printing Company in Middle Road, Bugis...they have mistakenly printed the size over what we originally wanted...which was a 5' x 3'...It turned out to be almost as half of an A4 size...but in the end, it still turned out nice...(and I think, it was even nicer than anticipated).

Since it was almost half of an A4 paper, it didn't fit any ready-to-use envelope. I checked on Popular, Art Friend and almost all arts and crafts store in Bras Basah Complex, but our cards didn't perfectly fit any envelope...

I was running out of time and so what I did was to just buy a colored paper, stick the card on one half, folded over and voila! Instant...I stick the "the cheers" sticker outside so as not to be too plain!

How it looks like over-all

The Cheers Monogram and Logo

After so many attempts of coming up with a monogram and logo for us...we have finally arrived at our final pick!
And it even looked better when printed!
I tried having them printed on transparent stickers so we can use these to seal-off our WYB cards to our Ento...
Here it is!!! ^_^
Next stop, our WYB cards!

Meeting our Wedding Coordinator, Ayie of Imbitado Events

Exciting day today since we will be meeting our coordinator...and so meeting her would mean going down to the details!

Meeting Ayie for the first time didn't feel awkward at all...it actually felt like we've known each other for a long time. She's very warm to talk to...and she talks to you not as a supplier-client, but on a level as if you are close friends...hence there's this sense of comfortability speaking with her.

She's very straight-forward too...one thing that I like! Things are easier accomplished if, straight-away the person would tell you if one thing is doable or not.

She's also open to sharing with her clients other suppliers she has worked with. She's not biased, so to speak...but instead would openly share to you how her experience is with a certain supplier. She's not controlling and demanding and would give you the freedom to choose whatever you want and how you want things to be.

Our first meeting indeed was a success! We were able to lay down everything...to know what we have accomplished so far, and what else we need to work. She also noted that we were still on track with our timeline.

Apart from our face-to-face meeting, I can also atest to how Ayie responds to email quickly. She never leaves her clients hanging...and so far, she has been meeting our expectations from her and has never forgotten even a single detail we've discussed.

I look forward to her handling our special day! And i continuously pray that God leads us to work with the right people to help us fufill our dream wedding!

Cheers! <3

Meeting Agie of Cheesecake

Today, we met Agie...the owner of Cheesecake! And meeting was a success!!!

Agie was very accommodating and she was very warm to talk to. She was also very patient...as in very patient... that even though Peers and I kept changing our minds, she supported us...all the way!

When Agie started showing us her swatches...we were overwhelmed! We couldn't decide which color to choose...there were way too much factors that we were considering..factors that affect each and every decision we needed to make before going to our final pick...

She basically helped us decide...from choosing between long gown or swing dress...to choosing between a variety of colors to all plain across all the entos...from choosing between pastels, bright colors or neutral ones. She openly gave us both pros and cons everytime we were caught between making a choice. Never thought this could be as complicated as choosing the venue! Haha

We took first into consideration what Peers had in mind for his male ento..of course this should blend with the color we would choose...then we also considered the majority built of my maids...unfortunately, light and pastel shade would make them bigger and so we scratched pastel and light shades...we also opted to get long gowns since choosing a short dress would mean either I or they will need to invest in the same style of shoes...since I don't like the idea that they will be wearing different styles of shoes.

So...after an hour and a half of debating and choosing, we have finally made a decision! (Wheew!!!)

We chose Radiant Orchid shade since this color is pretty neutral and can blend well with pastel colors...this color will also blend with the color of the suits of the male ento, which is gray...it will also complement all sorts of body shape since the color is slimming. So...there you go!

Emperor Event Center Ocular

Finally we managed to visit our Venue, Emperor Event Center...and unfortunately, we didn't have our "this-is-it" moment... :(

Pictures really could be deceiving...what we thought was a super huge and grand venue turned out to be just a plain old resort with a garden, a hall, a pool and a small resthouse.

It was a very hard decision to make for me and Papa P...since we already made our DP and there's no way we can still refund. But we feel that's its more important to take into consideration the fact that this is where we will be declaring our "I Do"s...in front of our family, relatives and friends. This venue will make a lasting impression...

But amazing how the turn of events were during that day...as we were about to leave the place, my dad met the owner of the resort...he was kind and accommodating and was even sharing with us some nearby hotels that we can recommend to our guests to check-in...little did we know that his suggestions would actually eventually lead us into our next potential venue.

It's really amazing how God can lead you to places without even knowing it...imagine how we landed into checking another venue after the owner shared with us other options we can consider.

And so the hunt begins yet again!

Cheers! <3
